Embracing imperfections isn’t about settling for less.
We have always been keen advocates of the Wabi Sabi way of life. So much about interiors and the home drives us toward the pursuit of perfection, and it’s understandable as your home is an extension of you. The place you should feel most comfortable, but also the space that reflects your character and personality. No wonder there’s such pressure to get it just ‘right’.
When we first started curating our Vintage Furniture Collection, we learnt that the beauty of these well loved pieces was in their imperfections. Over the years, this ethos has seeped into the way we look at our world of interiors.
The Art of Wabi Sabi
Rooted in Japanese culture, Wabi Sabi is an aesthetic that finds beauty in imperfection and simplicity. “Wabi” is a simple, rustic simplicity and quietness, often associated with the understated elegance you find in Vintage pieces. In other words, less is more.
The Vintage Collection
Each unique piece of furniture or beautiful accessory we source for you has contributed to and built on our love of all things Wabi Sabi. These old souls have lived many lives and this is reflected in their small but beautiful imperfections, from the wear of the wood to their patina and individual characters. Introducing just one of these pieces can add a sense of warmth that new items just can’t replicate.
Many of our pieces have been lovingly restored to give them a new lease of life whilst retaining the original character. This furniture will last for many many years to come and become a staple addition to your space.
In a world that constantly pushes us towards the new, our vintage items stand as a gentle reminder to appreciate the charm in the imperfect. These pieces invite you to slow down, to admire the beauty in the worn and weathered and to create homes with soul that feel not just designed, but lived in.
